About BLK Videography
- The BLK stands for Ben Lucas King -
Ahh an about me section. The place where you have come to find out a bit about your potential videographer.
Do they look capable of filming my special day...
Do they know what they are doing?
Any common interests perhaps...
Are they using A.I to do all of their work for them?!
HOW CAN IT ALL JUST BE ONE PERSON?!
Well I shall begin with a hello!
First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to have a look around my website, I hope you were able to find everything you were looking for super easy!
I'm a simple guy really, I like to film things that I think will one day become a cherished memory. I see mini stories unfold in front of my eyes and my camera goes up. It hunts around for the perfect angle to tell the moment in the most visually beautiful way, and when I find it, it just feels right. All the while keeping the truth of the moment in tact!
I am very anti-posey!
I love the moments that naturally unfold throughout the day. There are so many different stories and things happening on a wedding day, and I am always on the lookout for those moments.
My preferred setup in terms of equipment, is MINIMAL!
I like to keep handheld as much as possible, to retain some energy and character to the video. You might be thinking eww handheld that will look very shakey. Don't worry, I use LUMIX S5ii as my main camera, and the in-body stabilisation in camera means I can go handheld and maintain good stability. With handheld shooting, it means I can react to moments instantly. Far quicker than being on a gimbal, and a lot more discreet!
There are of course moments throughout the day when a bit of a smoother shot is required. A slower, smoother gradual approach to the venue for example. So for this I may then bring out the Ronin (Gimbal).
When it comes to editing, that is where I like to spend a LOT of time. Making sure it not only looks and sounds great, but bringing the story of the day to life in the way it was meant to be retold.
So if you like the idea of having just the one camera guy who you don't even notice is there half the time, capturing your day in a beautiful and true way, then you can stop looking. You have found your videographer!
My yearly wedding intake is quite minimal which allows me to invest a greater amount of time into editing your videos.
From the moment you enquire, I will offer a call to meet and have a chat. See if we get on and are on the same page in terms of what you are looking for. These are quite informal, typically on a WhatsApp voice/video call.
So what are you waiting for?
Go have a look at some of my videos, take a look at my offerings, and fill out a form!
